We are in search of descendants of soldiers who fought in the Civil War and particularly, soldiers who fought in the Battle of Fredericktown, Missouri on October 21, 1861. Thus far, we have located the descendants of 23 soldiers and have identified over 300 soldiers whose records indicate they were at Fredericktown during the battle.
We are in search of letters, diaries, photos and any other related documentation that will further enhance the battle story here. It is our intent to publish a book, utilizing the information we are able to gather.
We have included downloadable pdf files that include the names of soldiers having been identified as being in Fredericktown. Please look at these lists and see if you recognize the name of an ancestor. Some names may appear to be duplicates, but we have included them for the sake of errors that may have been made in the soldiers files.
If you know your ancestor was a Civil War soldier, but is not on any of these lists, won't you please contact us and tell us about him? Please click our contact link
